Our Newest Addition...

wetceal Feb 25, 2005 05:56 PM

I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, not a snake...this time! This "little" guy is our newest addition! He is currently about 3 1/2 months old and weighs approximately 23 pounds. He's got wraps on his ears to help train them to stand up but they are totally healed. We can take them off in about four or five days.

I love puppies!! They are SO cute! He is bouncy and goofy and the sweetest puppy in the world! He should be about 90 pounds or so full grown. His name is Bauer

Sean & Bauer

He sleeps a lot...

And a Ball Python picture so I'm not too much off topic :-D

Thanks for looking!

Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean

Murphinski Feb 25, 2005 08:51 PM

I don't have any Dobies now, but quite a few years ago.....I had a pair...produced a few litters............had this one pup that his left ear would not stay up! I would put the wrapping back on...leave it there for a couple weeks....remove it and the ear would flop back over. After several attempts with this......I finally gave up. The lil guy was so darn cute and sweet...but nobody wanted a Dobie with a droopy, cropped ear.....

Congrats on your new baby!!

Is it that difficult to get their ears to stand?

The breeder sent me some photos of Bauer before I got him and he didn't have the tape on his ears in those photos. His ears looked like they were standing up pretty well though so hopefully he won't have any problems...

We'll see in about three days from now!

Thanks,
Celia

"Is it that difficult to get their ears to stand?"

Not at all......that particular pup was born a runt and it's quite possible the droopy ear problem was my fault.....even though he was of appropriate age...he was still relatively small for his age. The vet wasn't real sure why his left ear was so problematic...the right ear stood up with no problem.....and I never had any other pup with a droopy ear problem....

I love dobies. Mine just turned 10 on Valentines day. He is the best dog I have ever had.
Good luck with him.

Nice try...C!

You think that by posting a pic of a Mr. Spock look-alike, I'm going to run out and get one. It might have worked with the bengals, but this time it aint gonna work! LOL!

Nice dobe! I had one when I was a teenager. They are amazing dogs!

You KNOW you want another one! LOL! It's funny to watch how the pup gets along with the Bengal. The cat's doesn't run away from him but he does puff up to twice his size and makes the most god-awful noises. Bauer got swatted on the nose but it didn't seem to phase him at all LOL!

Thanks,
Celia

What a beautiful doberman! I remember our doberman when she was just a puppy, they're so clumsy at that stage.

Damm Sean you grew up. You guys look so happy, great dobbie!
