I just picked up this male today and was curious to see how much they are going for. I don't really know to much about banded ball pythons, I am not sure if they are genetic. I have heard that they are and some guys say that thier just fancy normals. I would appreciate any info on the topic, thanks.

Hey Kyle...

The pic you posted is not what I would describe as a banded or reduced pattern snake. Banded animals lack those spots that usually resemble the eyes of an alien face. The picture you posted clearly shows spotting where the animal should be banded.

Here's a picture of an animal from my orange banded project. Notice there are no alien heads or spots... This may also be refered to as a reduced pattern.

As far as genetics goes... there are a couple of genetic banded animals out there. The female I posted above gave me a pair of banded animals from a clutch of four. I pretty confident that my orange banded animals are genetic, but I will need to breed them a few more time to be absolutely sure. I'm hoping there is a Super form.

I don't believe yours looks like a banded ball, OZ's looks like one. Here is a picture of a semi-banded ball. This animals in my opinion is only partially banded. Thanks DAVID
