I find it incredibly ironic ( pregnant crested info)

boaluvr123 Feb 26, 2005 10:50 AM

I find if incredibly ironic , when i have 2 adult females in w my male , for over 2 months , n neither of them is notably pregnant , but then i stuck a 24 gram juvenile female in there w them about 1 month ago , so that i could clean her tank n then i took her out afterwards, i look in her tank yesterday , n shes super fat , n has two egg shaped items in her stomach. u can clearly see them through her skin as well. i cant believe that shes the one that got pregnant , n not the other two havent. the other two have been mated , my orange girl looks to be pregnant , but my red girl isnt showing many signs of it. could someone give me some info about why my other two arent showing any signs of pregnancy? or anything about this in general would be helpful. thanx

i had my first adult pair together the first time somewhere around august or september, and didnt get any eggs until late january. but you just never know, if you've got virgin females it could take them a while to begin laying good eggs. luckily 2 of mine started off real strong.

everytime i've ever separated a male from a female, even if just for a few hours they go crazy when i put them back together. you may also want to make sure the temps are around 74-76 degrees and not any cooler than that. they will not breed at much lower than 74 degrees in my experience.
