another feeding problem. help please!

josiahatteberry Feb 26, 2005 12:40 PM

i have posted with problems previously about my gecko. my last problem was that he didnt see the mealworms in the dish i put in the tank. now i have removed that dish and put in a shallower one that he can see the mealworms in but he still hastn eaten any of them. ive tried hand feeding, didnt work, i tried getting a mealworm out and letting him see it and recognize it as food and then put it in the dish with the rest of the mealworms but all he did was come up to the dish and lick the mealworms and then walk off, so i have been doing this over and over and i have moved the dish so it is in direct view of him in his hides but i dont think he has eaten anything yet. im running out of ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated.

try live crickets. your leo might not like mealies. I know my juvenile wont eat em.

I agree, try crickets. One of my geckos won't touch mealies. If your gecko is ok with being picked up, you can feed in a seperate container so you don't have crickets running all over the cage.
