i've had my bp fpr over a month now ... he's around 18 inches. what should i do to help ?

They do it when their cycle tells them to. This cycle is controlled by temperature, food, and hormones. You do nothing. So leave it alone.
AGAIN, I'm hoppin' on Jeff's back, in a non-gay way, and agreeing that you should do absolutely nothing! A month is not abnormal for a shed, most of my BP's shed approx. every six weeks, and longer when they don't eat. I have a 2100g female whom I've had for 3 months, she hasn't eaten since I've had her, and she hasn't shed for me either.
"Not that there's anything wrong with that". LOL!!
Most snakes shed every two months (don't look at a week). If they grow very fast (young animals) they shed more often. The only time when you should worry is when the snake sheds to often (every two or three weeks). Than it can have mites.
