locale temperaments

bmelv24 Feb 26, 2005 02:30 PM

I am trying to decide on which locale of GTP to purchase. Could anyone tell me (and I know there are nice biaks and nasty aru's) which are the nicer GTP's. I can find info for the aru and biak but there is no mention of temperaments for jayapura, wamena sorong, nabire etc.

Basically, to answer you questionn, all snakes have their own personality. Depending on where you go, if you ask for directions in the street you will get all kinds of responses. It may seem that in some cases, in some places, people are "nicer" than others. But the truth is, every place has some nice people. Biak is more typically know for its aggression but i have run across some fairly laid back Biaks. Arus are generally known for their handle able dimeanor but i have also seen some strike out at everything. Those are the only 2 locals that i have had the pleasure to be around and kind of work with so you may be able to get better information talking with your bank teller.

My 2 Cents as a gift for you :0 - Tim

All GTP's are "individuals" much like humans and they all exhibit their own unique, individual personalities. Neonates and juvies can be a bit snappy (for obvious defense reasons) but most do mellow out a bit as they age and mature. If you are set that you wish to obtain a mild mannered chondro, then I suggest you obtain either a calm sub-adult or adult. Such a purchase might cost twice as much (assuming you are going to purchase a TRUE USA cbb animal in contrast to a Farm Raised or Import).
