Shipping burm to NJ

I am supposed to be getting a buremese python from a friend. He is supposed to be shipping it to me to Newark airport in NJ. I heard that Burmese pythons require a permit in NJ. Does anyone know if They will ask me for a permit in order to pick it up from the airport. Or will they hold the snake and not let me take it. Thanks for your help. Any info you might have will be appreciated. Thanks

I'd never recommend keeping an animal without the proper permits. Perhaps contact the authorities to obtain one. The airport is a very good place to have unpermited animals taken away.
