Somehting found in enclosure... help?

biscuit71 Feb 26, 2005 02:48 PM

Well.. i was cleaning out my Rainbows cage, and there was something in there that I'm not sure what it is.. it isnt a dropping of any kind, so I was kind of baffled.. It is kind of a white / milky white color.. not a solid white color, more of a clear white sort of... really hard to explain. I am thinking it may be a sperm plug or somehting as I have never seen anyhting like it in his cage before, and have yet to breed anyhting as they are all too young. (or so i thought)
He is about 1 1/2 years old (so i was told) and he is about 2 lbs and 4 feet long.... any and all assistance would be greatly appreciate. Thank you much

Sean,
My guess would be a sperm plug. I'm not sure at what age the males begin to produce sperm but probably earlier in age than females are when they become sexually mature. Coming out of winter your male probably is responding to the change in temps and got a little excited. If it looks and feels like sperm it probably is.
