hey everybody tonight i was watching one of my satanic cages and heard one a wierd noise in another cage so i went to see what it was and onr of my males was biting my other male that was in there so put him on his side of the cage and about an hour later i was watching tv and saw him jumping and movig his tail fast at my female so i thought this was a breeding behavior then he jumped and bite her then bite her whole neck so i hurried and separated him and i was seein if anybody know of this behavior and why he did it i woukd greatly appreciate it

You should not have separated them. Biting the neck is a common breeding behavior for uroplatus. Next time make sure you leave them alone.

Been meaning to email you back but havent had the time this week. Glad to see your having some success with the ones I sold you.

And yes that is breeding behavior like the king of breeding corkbarks said! Im still impressed as hell about that too by the way! Cant wait to get some breeders in myself!

yea dude, dont sweat it. when i moved my 3.1 group into a new enclosure a month or two ago, one of the males that had been lazy as hell since may all the sudden started following the female everywhere in the cage, and then i noticed him snap at another male and basically try to shove him out of the ficus they were in. the only thing that sounds weird is the neck bite, he should not have her entire neck in his mouth. maybe he just got too excited and overshot his lunge to mount her.

so should i just put him in there with the female by themselves or should i put both of the males in there with her cause i have 3 trios and looking for two females that way all four of my males i have can have there on trios also if he does it agian should i just watch him or take him off of her if it looks bad cause yesterday when i heard the scream he had his whole entire mouth around my male and if he puts his whole mouth around can this be bad or deadly compared to geckos

well, aggression from satanics is something ive only very rarely seen, and when i do it's usually followed by mating. the reason why i keep my males together now was because i was actually trying to get tem to be territorial or responsive to others in one way or another, hopefully ending up with males proving themselves for a female. i cant keep my eyes on them 100% of the time, and neither can you, so it's really your own call. i would say in your case, if you have one male that is doing all the bullying, maybe move the other males out and keep him with the female, because i have a strong feeling that aggression from these guys is mainly exhibited in relation to courtship and mating. if your male continues to be aggressive even towards the female without mating, maybe move him out for a lil while to let him cool off.
