I was just wondering if it is normal for your male to slow his eating habits during breeding season?

I have two males and they are in seperate containers, both were bred about a month ago. The thing is I cant see where they have been eating anything and they are not real active like my females, I use a heat pad and a nocturnal light at night. They were raised on mealies.

I have tried putting crickets in there to see if they would eat them. the both look real heathly, except the one I have noticed his tail shrinking.

He had a mishap with his tail, about three weeks ago, I forgot to put lids on containers and he got out into the other ones cage and I belive they fought, it caused a nasty bite on his tail looked like someone took a potatoe peeler to it. Anyhow it looks like its healing up good.

Any advice on poor eating habits with male breeders?
