Morph Question

majesticrose Feb 27, 2005 05:54 AM

I recently purchased my first two leopard geckos (something I wanted to do for a while). I have a male and female now. My male is a definately Albino, however the female I was told is a yellow pahse. But every picture I've compared her to makes me think that she is a Hypo Tangerine. What do you guys think??

Also, if these two were to breed, what is the outcome possibilities of the hatchlings??

Heres my girl . . .

She is a hypo, but not a tangerine...... Nice looking girl.... If you breed her to the male, you will get anywhere from somewhat normal looking babies to hypos that are het for albino.... None of the babies will express the albino gene but they will be cary the albino gene.... This means if you breed the offspring to eachother or back to the dad, some of your clutch will be albinos.....

They are very nice looking.

Ok, question: if they breed the offspring to eachother or back to the dad, isn't that incest (animal incest)? I mean you wouldn't want someone to have kids and tell them to breed with one another or with their mother or father...........

Just wondering. Wouldn't that produce like "Hillbilly" gecko's that don't look right?

inbreeding is fine as long as it doesnt get out of control..animal inbreeding is not like human inbreeding...~puke~``

why not bye your self another girl of a different blood line then put her with your pair then you can put her babys with your babys then the inbreeding is't so bad.

Could she be Hypo Gold?? I checked the morph website listed on the bottom of the Morph and Genetics sub forum and she looks like a Hypo Gold.
