Just picked up a brilliant harlequin/fire from Petco yesterday which was priced at 59.00!!!!!!!Not showing any signs of being male at this point but it sure is beautiful.Will post pics soon.It was mixed in with a bunch of buckskins

we all like to see what gets mixed in there sometimes. post pics!

yeah you can keep your eyes open for good finds. i got a juvie fire from petsmart and its developing pinstripes!

Where is the cloest Petco near Cincinnati Ohio? I hear about people getting these awesome deals and man I would love to get some to. I have 21 of these guys and have been looking to add on! If anyone knows please contact me!

I got this little one from petco 3 months ago. It was the same story for me, just stood out way too much and had to get it. it was the favorite of mine for sure. unfourtanetly it died last night. was acting sluggish the past week or so, but nothing changed, room, temp, housing, feeding. really cant figure it out. but ya you can find some good ones in there if ya check once in a while.

i got this female from petsmart for $45. luckily i have a friend who works there and she warned me that they had her there so i could snatch her up! she just put out her first infertile egg last month, im waiting in hopes that there will be a fertile clutch soon!

pleasant surprise...this one came from petsmart. it's a juvie and this shed brought out a nice red body!

Just please be carefull with the cresties you find at Petco. We recently recieved a small group of very small cresties at the Petco where I work, and 2 were very small with very kinked tails. When we checked with the distributer they told us that they were fed waxworms and crickets and that they would sometimes eat babyfood. They went to our vet this morning, so I'm waiting to see what the results were. Needless to say, we won't be ordering any more from them for a while. I've seen several come in with floppy tail too. Just a small thing from me.

ya not all petsmart/petco cresties are bad, the one where i live got thiers from sandfire dragon ranch. they opened late last year and have only had one crestie so i hope they keep getting from good breeders. normally i have a no petstore policy, but sometimes good deals are too good to pass up. just be careful and do your homework, if they dont want to tell you where they got a certain herp dont buy from them,(the famous line " oh we have a distributor we buy from...." that is no way to treat a customer.

I'd agree with what you said. If you have questions, ask. If you don't like or trust the answer, either ask someone else there, or stay away. We won't sell an animal in the rare case that the customer isn't ready to properly care for it or if it is an impulse buy because it's cute or it'd be cool in a room. Now if we could only get our store to follow the info in some of our books and not have all those company policies that make no sense....

Thanks for the comment from a Petco Associate.I am not trying to parade the fact that I pulled a fast one on Petco at all ,just ecstatic to find such a brilliantly colored individual at such a pleasant price.

I got a gorgeous one from Petco for $55.00. Real hot Harlequinn. Turned out to be a male but that's fine I have a smokin Harley female from Robbie Hamper. Can't wait till the little guy matures.

I was told by someone in the business the reason why you get a few high colored ones. Apparently -- the breeders they buy from supply them with mainly the low end stuff (buckskins) but have a certain quota they need to meet in order keep Petco's business. So they toss in an occaisional high colored one into the mix just to fill the order if they don't have enough common ones.
