Those pics goes to show that their ARE some colorful wild thayeri despite what people say. There are many who think that the Thayeri we work with today are not anything like thayeri in the wild. I beg to differ with them. Not all wild thayeri are as drab as some may think. I appreciate the pictures posted on this forum by Dan. We as breeders/keepers/hobbyists are selective breeding snakes that have always had these genes. Natural selection is not taking place in our breeder racks rather selective propagation that would have a very slim chance of happening in the wild.
I am a firm believer that all thayeri have the genes to produce the bright array of colors that we see today. Just line breed some for a while and see what pops up.............
