dh ghost x dh ghost = anerys ?

Mickey_TLK Jul 08, 2003 12:20 AM

I am a little confused, is it possible to get anerys from a dh ghost x dh ghost breeding. I would assume all resulting babies would be hypos. 25% would be anery (ghosts), 50% would be het anery (dh ghosts), and 25% would be common (hypos). I dont see anery only popping up, but have heard its possible. Is it possible, is it rare. Is it possible to end up with multiple anerys?

Head hurts now.

Here is what you should get out of 16 babys
1 normal
2 Het. anrey,
1 Homozygous anrey,
2 Het. hypo,
4 Het. hypo, Het. anrey,
2 Het. hypo, Homozygous anrey,
1 Homozygous hypo,
2 Homozygous hypo, Het. anrey,
1 Homozygous hypo, Homozygous anrey,

here is a web site you can get any combos

that sounds more like a hypo het anery x anery breeding to me. But I am likely way off, however you het hypo statement made me question you as a het hypo is common.

The Genetics Wizard program recognizes "super" as "homozygous",and,"co-dominant" as "het" so those listed in the outcome of theoretical proposed breedings,as "het hypo" are in fact,"co-dom.'s"...hope this helps...I didn't run your info through the "Wizard",but,if he did, then that's probably correct.

and he's correct. BTW, "heterozygous" is the standard genetics term for a snake with one mutant gene paired with either a normal gene or a different mutant gene. And "homozygous" is the standard genetics term for a snake with a pair of identical genes (in this case the hypo mutant gene). "Super" is just herper slang for an animal that is homozygous for a codominant mutant gene.
