Need info on "Orange Leg" Ameivas

Langly2112 Feb 27, 2005 05:11 PM

I'm familiar with Green Ameivas but not this species-
will post a photo later.

If you have any info that will help I appreciate it.

One is digging holes in warm spots in the cage-would anyone know if this is digging a burrow or to lay eggs-just bought them yesterday (Hamburg, PA). Not even sure how to sex them. (I know how to sex Green Ameivas BTW.)

They are eating (crickets, mealies, and waxworms) and drinking well and are active. Very nice lizards-BTW. Health is very good.
They are eating alot! They are lively little guys (or girls). Not biters at all.

I have made a nice "forest floor" habitiat with live plants and a basking area (and a full spectrum light as well), large water dish (they seem to like to sit in),
numerous hides and earth substrate (potting soil)

They "seem" to be rather social. Is this normal for the species?

I assumed (I know I shouldn't) they are similar, care wise, to the larger Green Ameivas-if that's wrong-please let me know.

Thanks in advance.
