You know I am one of those MEX-MEX fans. Nice one Jetzen. When you breeding those things? Next year?
John Lassiter
Here is one for other Mexmex fans. It is a pic of 5 of my adult/subadult Mexmex. I have a splitband mexmex female that is a 2004 hatch that was in shed and too small for the pic. Check out the variation. I hope to add brownphase, speckled phase and light/white phase soon.
1.1 Dark phase
1.1 "classic" phase
1.0 Splitband
06' has it's possibilies, lol! and a nice group you have! what does a speckled mex-mex look like?, I don't believe i ever seen one.
A speckled king is just that....speckled with black and red speckles on a gray/silver background. I can email you a pic since the pics I have are not mine to post...
Thanks for the compliment on my colony.
What does your female mate look like for that male?
John Lassiter
Please email me the speckled mex-mex pic, thanks, and here's my 03' 0.1 she don't eat as much as her brother so she's a bit smaller.

Jetzen,
That female looks awesome. I like the way her saddles are confined to the dorsum and not down her sides. I see slight split bands in both of them.
Have you noticed that your male is darker/cleaner/brighter than your female?? Out of each of the three phases I have (dark, splitband & classic) the males are all darker/cleaner or brighter in color.
I will find the pics of the speckled Mexmex and get them to you.
John Lassiter
He just shed yesterday,LoL! and yes he always was better looking. thanks.
That is great news really. I was asked just the other day if I have noticed that the male Mex-mex's look better than the females.
I never really noticed until I was asked. I think it is interesting that one may be able to tell genders in a mexmex clutch by appearance alone. It has been concurrent with many others I have asked as well as in my colony of mexmex.
Thanks for the info,
John Lassiter
