Leo with a lazy eye

karaslittleyoshi Feb 28, 2005 04:55 AM

Not to long ago I went to pull my leo out of his cage for his daily outing and noticed his right eye was half shut but the other was fine. My first thought was he had an infection but as soon as I picked him up he opened it. I checked the eye for film and to see if anything was bugging it but it seemed fine. I decided not to worry but just to watch it. I then noticed that when he was at rest, basking or just hanging around that eye was always half closed. He can open it and he does... it just seemed when no one was watching. I then starting to notice that when I moved past him or food did he could not see very well out of that eye. I took him to the vet and he confirmed what I thought, my leo has a lazy eye. He is a male and approx. 5 months old. Has any one has any thing like this happen to their leos or have any ideas of what could have happend? It wasn't always this way. Thanks so much.
