Take a stroll down memory lane...

...and scroll down to the thread entitled "Worth taking a peak" and read through it's entirety. It seems I had some forum users questioning my "lighting" while photographing this animal. I even had one accusation of "gatorading" it, like the Red Balls from days gone by...lol...I'll take that as a compliment I guess. Anyways, thanks to everyone who replied without prejudice. The "Please...don't insult me" reply is for the doubters...any other comments welcomed.

Who knows?
Maybe the doubters are in doubt because they're not really clear pictures. I know the feeling of not having a great digital camera.

I replied down below and I’ll copy the message here too since I didn’t see this when I posted the other message.

I thought it was you pulling a gag on the forum members......You asked the board for their opinion, I gave mine. Obviously I was wrong.

Blemish on your reputation? Where did that come from? I wasn’t accusing you of soaking the snake in Gatorade, that’s why I had question marks at the end of the statement.

That’s why I never post here....there is no tone of voice through typed words and people will jump on you over nothing. Like I said, I thought it was gag pic.

Very pretty snake by the way. I wish I had one just like it, but I don’t. Most pastels don’t look as bright yellow as that snake. Heck, my pastel is BROWN

Cheers,
Rob

I've been watching this forum for awhile now so that I can learn more about the care and breeding colonies of ball pythons. Unfortunatly I've spent alot of my time reading useless posts about forum members bickering like little kids. Maybe I'm the only one that feels like this is a waste of time for the people that really want to learn and expand their knowledge by networking with the people that have helped build this industry. Just a thought.

Rob, I just wanted to apologize to you if it sounded like I was jumping on you...I wasn't. In all reality, I just read through the posts real quick, just to get some thoughts. I scrolled over stuff like "nice snake", "killer animal", then "yellow bulb", "gatorade", etc...took it all with a grain of salt. Just wanted to let you know I wasn't singling anyone out for their comments just thought the original thread got a little ugly and very easily could have came off to some that the animal was indeed "tainted" By the way, your "brown" Pastel comment cracked me up...been there seen that. Cheers!!!

If it proves to be genetic, then you have something...well more than normal.

It doesn't count if you have to soak the babies in gatorade as well...lol...just a joke.

I think our yellow BP's are similar. Here's a picture I posted last year about the iridescent blackback. The yellow girl has continued to get brighter, her head fades more, and her eyes get brighter. And yes, as somebody mentioned the yellow is brighter across the back where many pastels are "dirtier". They should both give me some 50%PossHetPieds this year and I hope to post some "gravid pics" soon that should be better pictures. Maybe I'll breed her to a pastel next year. Good luck with yours.
