Can someone post a list of what to gutload with?

chibicricket Feb 28, 2005 02:42 PM

My mealie population is finally back up to where it should be after a month of being over-run with beetles. I've been giving them carrots, apples and potatoes, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can give them to make my geckos their healthiest.

We order ours from Progeckos.com All of our leos are fat and healthy.

Um, that's not really what I meant. I breed my own mealies and I just wanted to know what to gutload them with besides apples, carrots, and potatoes. My leos are very healthy too, but I also wanted to improve on my mealies. It's a lot easier for me to breed them because it's hard for me to get them where I live. Also, I live in artic conditions, so having them shipped is difficult too.

I used nature zone bites, they were green squares that smelled like mangoes. My crickets and mealworms devoured them, and so did the lizards I own after eating the insects gutloaded.I own 5 leos and a bearded dragon.Good luck, I think you can get them from naturezone.com just in case.

No, we order our GUTLOAD from ProGeckos. We also breed our own mealworms.
You can use chicken feed to gutload them, or even fish food mixed with wheat bran, but the ProGeckos gutload is very well balanced, and in my opinion worth every penny. Just look at Cody's leos and you will see what I mean.

If you can get "unmedicated chicken layer mash" from a feed store that would work great. I got 50lbs(22.7kg) for $7.50 USD. That'll last a long time for my colony.

I need more geckos I have 1 leo and about 10k worms... sigh...
