Any known good vets?

goini04 Feb 28, 2005 07:07 PM

Just wondering if anyone knows of any GOOD vets in Ohio (preferably as close to Columbus as possible)? I don't have any health issues with my animals at this time, so it's no emergency. Just want to get some info. There is this pet shop owner near me, that says NOT to take reptiles to a vet unless you want them dead. He claims that there are rarely any vets that are trained in veterinary medicine for reptiles. Unfortunately most of the places that I have called around here donot deal with reps. Just wondering if anyone knows of somewhere that I don't.?

Thanks for the info,
Stan

there are two ways I can think of to track one down.
First, I know there's some kind of organization or association for reptile medicine that has a listing of practitioners. Unfortunately I forget it's name. I may have gotten the link off of www.anapsid.org but don't remember.
And another option, is if you're familiar with a wildlife museum/rehab center, by talking to them you might get a name or two.
Unfortunately if you're not in a metropolitan area some driving may be involved... Good luck.
