Male Ghost from Bill Kirby

RyanT Feb 28, 2005 09:46 PM

I picked this guy up Saturday after the Hamburg show. Bill lives about 20 minutes from me so I went down to his house and picked him up. Bill is awesome and showed me all of his animals, which are amazing. He has the best collection I've ever seen and it's refreshing to meet someone like him. I've admired Ghosts since he frist produced them and I can't believe I now own one. And a spectacular one at that. It was great to meet a "celebrity" in this little world of ours like him, one on one. And I can't wait to do business with him again. It was more than a pleasure. Bill, if you read this, hope you don't mind me strokin ya for a minute but it's true. Haha.

Anyway,as far as the snake goes, he was born 6/03. He's about 3 feet long or so. Sibling to a patternless that is, for all intents and purposes, the coolest Ghost in the world. There's no doubt in my mind this guy is dominant just from looking at him but he was produced from a Ghost X DH breeding. Check him out. I still can't believe he's mine. My batteries are going dead so not the absolute greatest pics and I also didn't wanna stress him too much. He's still settling in. But you should be able to get the idea.

Bill has some amazing ghost and anerys.........Not to mention all the others.
Did you get to see the hypo suris by chance? I keep on bugging Bill to post new pics of those.
Congrats!
John

Thanks John. I have tried repeatedly to get a picture that shows the color of those hypos but can't get it done. I am finally putting together a web site and will have a photographer take pics of some of the boas so hopefully I can accurately picture them. I still think they are the best hypos I have seen and will get started on the next phase of the surinam sunglow cross project this fall.

Hey John. Thanks. And since Bill just mentioned it, yes I did see the hypo Suris. Most unique and outstanding hypos I've ever seen. The hypo BCC tail is perfect and they also have purple on their sides. Excellent idea I had never even thought of. People complain about crosses but they are beautiful animals no matter what. And as long as they're represented correctly, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

I know you will love him. I have loved Ghosts since seeing my first one on the internet in '01. Yours looks very clean with soft patterns. Bill produces beautiful, light, clean Ghosts that are second to none. I have some from his lineage here, and I treasure them all.

Thanks Linda. You have not only been a strong supporter of the ghosts but have produced many outstanding animals and have done alot to further the project. I think your Hogg x Ghost cross, whatever you are going to call them, will be really exceptional animals with the hypo from the Ghost and the natural hypo from the Hogg. I am anxious to see if they color change like a Hogg. I hope your breeding season is going well and am anxious to see your babies, in particular the Motley x hypo ltter. Good luck with them and with your Motley female.

Regarding the Ghost x Hogs: I'm not sure if you know this, but Mr Hershey is their Dad. Anyway, I haven't ever come up with a name for them except for the silly little tag of "Ghoggys". They get very light at night and sometimes show more blues along their sides. I'm looking forward to putting the male with one of my Ghosts next season.

Thank you for all of the kind words Ryan. I enjoyed meeting you and having a chance to show you my animals. As you know there has been a mixed reaction to ghosts over the years so it is always great to be able to show my ghosts to someone who really appreciates them. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of hypos your ghost produces since the babies from that small litter were only ghosts and anerys.
As for "celebrity" status I am far from that level. I am fortunate to have been able to acquire some high quality animals and have some success in breeding them. I have alot of dues to pay before I could ever reach the status of the real stars like Pete, Frank, Jeremy, Rich and the Boaphile. Thanks again and hopefully I will have some nice babies to show you in a few months.
Bill

We have like the exact same interests in what we like to see in the boas. I've never seen anyone else with as many animals that are as exciting as yours, in my own opinion. So as far as I'm concerned, you've got the best. I'm sure there are others who feel the same way so quit being so modest and accept it. Haha. I'm gonna contact you soon. I can't stop thinking about that anery now. Take care.
