High-End Crested Gecko

rgt Feb 28, 2005 09:52 PM

I just saw the below post saying crested are among the most handeable. Now what is the species name for the rarest, most expensive and sought after crested gecko? Are there any 100% true albino crested gecko with red eyes available?

Hi. They are all the same species: Rhacodactylus ciliatus. There is no albino. The most expensive morph would probably be a "marble" or a 100% pinstripe, creamsickle. But if you want a more handlable relative of the crested gecko, get a R. Chahoua. Also, for more info, go to the rhacodactylus forum.

Here is an example of pin-stripes. A male pin-stripe and a female partial pin-stripe. Pin-stripes are the most expensive crested geckos other then that one person selling a green for $1,500!

So far there has been no albinos. But I will be producing one this year!LoL, just kidding. Thanks Erik

I think that a "neon creamsicle" any true red harleys and moon glows are the most high-end cresteds. I have even gotten a pin stripe at petco for $65. Dont get me wrong there pritty high up there but you could not get one of those three if you tried. I only know of two, people who will offer them in late summer. There is another guy who sold me a 7gram red harley for $150.00 that was a steal since they are not even for sale and when they are for sale they are going to be $500-$600 for a baby. By the way it turned out to be a female.
