Hypo Copperhead Group.

I picked up this group on Saturday from Michael Jolliff at the Hamburg show. I followed them from their original owner to Michael and then bugged him until he decided to sell them. He was cool enough to notify me first when he figured out what to do with them because he knew how interested I was. Then he held them for me for about 2 months until the show came up. Needless to say, I really appreciate that and he was great to do business with. It also really nice to meet such a good guy in person.

This 2.3 group consists of 2 adults that produced the other 3 babies. The male baby is a visible hypo as was 2 of his other siblings that were kept by the original owner. Out of a litter of 6, 3 were hypos, 3 were theoretically 66% hets. One of the hets died. I now have the other 2. I can't beleive the female was even big enough to breed. She's about 18 inches long and had 6 babies. According to Michael, it almost killed her. I'll be giving her at least another year before I attempt to breed her again. All 5 are exceptional looking coppers but this male is the coolest I've ever seen. His belly is also totally clear. No markings at all. I'm definitely looking forward to raising these guys. I love coppers and I've been looking for a project like this for a long time. Thanks again Michael.

Here's the mother. By the way. Sorry the pics suck. My batteries were going dead and I didn't wanna stress them too much more. They're still settling in.

Wow. These pics are really bad. The babies are so tiny though too. I was trying to zoom in. I'll have to get some new batteries and take better ones in a few days.

This is almost pointless. But here's the star of the show. Hopefully some people have screens that are big enough to make them look alright.

Thanx Ryan - it was a pleasure doing business w/ you. I know you will do well w/ the group. They were prob. the best feeding Coppers I have ever had - never refused a meal. Congrats. to Michael Bump on producing them. It is nice to see someone trying to establish some of the neat Copperhead morphs & bloodlines out there.

That pic is way better than what I did. By the way, I got your email. Definitely let me know if you come across anything like these ever again. I'd be just as interested. But I'll be in touch anyway, letting you know how these are doing. I'm gonna try feeding them all tonight. Talk to you later man. Ryan.

I went to the Hamburg show with my friend Craig who hadn't been before. We had just gotten there, and were walking down the 2nd aisle when I saw and pointed out Michael, since he always has such nice animals. Craig about flipped, asked why I hadn't told him Joliff would be there, and that if he'd brought the hypo copperhead group he was definitely going to buy them. It was news to me, I asked if he was serious. Craig said yeah, he'd been going crazy thinking about them. We got to the table through the incredibly crowded aisle and there you were, big stack of containers beside you, and Michael was handing you a release form saying that you just needed to sign that and it was completely finished. I looked at Craig, his mouth was hanging open, and I started laughing. We could even pick out the baby hypo in its container.
Would he have actually dropped the $$? I don't know, he says he was serious, so maybe so. It was just perfect perfect timing for him to mention it and then see the deal sealed right then. Congratulations on your purchase, and know that there are jealous people out there looking for results!

Actually, I had a down payment on them for about 2 months before the show if that makes your friend feel any better. He never had a chance. Haha. I tracked them from their original owner like 5 or 6 months ago. Believe me, I couldn't stop thinking about them either. It's so satisfying after waiting and wondering for so long to finally have them. I'll be holding onto at least the first 2 generations of hypos but the siblings will be available which are still amazing looking. I won't be breeding that female for at least a year though but when I do, keep an eye out. Thanks for the comments. Ryan.
