I just found out that my iggy Zade has eggs. Does anyone have any suggestions to what I should use for the nesting box? I was thinking a plastic garbage can filled with soil or something... my vet suggested vermiculite and sphagnum moss; would that be any better? Also, I have no idea as to how I'm going to get Zadey there - should I let her find it for herself, or should I stick her in there?

Many breeders and people that have had egg layings use one of those large rectangle tupperware tubs. Vermiculite and the moss is very good. That's what they use also. Is your ig a free-roamer? Or in a enclosure? If she is then put it in her cage and she'll find it eventually. If she layed eggs then i am guessing you are using some type of substrate? If so what is it?

My iggy is mostly a free roamer, I don't really have a cage for her at all. She does have a small tank, but she only goes in there to poop, otherwise she roams my room. Do you mean the substrate in the tank? I just use a couple of newspapers on the bottom and a layer of woodchip-like stuff. For the nesting box - so I just fill the box with vermiculite and moss? Also, I know that she'll be really stressed, so am I supposed to keep her completely isolated? I feel so clueless. x_x;
