Whistling

Ara Mar 01, 2005 12:15 AM

I'm worried because my ball python has been making some whistling noises when she is breathing. A few years ago a bought a baby ball who had a respiratory infection without knowing it, and it passed away. I'm worried that this could be the same thing, or IBD.

There is no discharge around the mouth or nostrils, and she is still active, and still has lots of strength. The only thing I am really noticing that is different is this whistling.

She was also just laying in her water dish, could she have just gotten some water in her nose?

Should I be worried? I don't want to lose her.

Any response is appreciated.

I've noticed whistling in mine when they had a piece of old shed suck up their nose. I wouldn't worry too much as long as you're not seeing any snot/mucus and she seems strong otherwise, just keep an eye on it. You might want to give her a humid hide box for her next shed.
