My boa died and I have a few questions

spottedturtleman Mar 01, 2005 05:29 AM

She looked like she had a few lumps in her body. She stopped feeding two weeks ago and her cloaca was pushed in. She was a four foot c.b. animal that was eating small rats. She always had clean water and the cage temp. was 86 in the hot spot and 78 in the cool spot. Anyone know what might have happened?
Thank you,
Tom

When ther are no symptoms, the best way to get answers would be to put your Boa in the fridge(in a bag), and go call some Vets to find out where you can get a full necropsy done. We have a university here that does ours, and it's alot cheaper than the vets. Just be sure not to freeze the snake, but rather keep in the fridge, and transport it in an ice cooler. --- Sorry about the loss of your snake.

That was good advice from Morgans Boas.
