Prehensile Tailed Skinks Growth

WilllisTooL Mar 01, 2005 11:45 AM

My prehensile tailed skink(George as in Curious George) is now about a year and maybe 2 months old and i was wondering how big he(actually i dont know its sex) should be? Also how do you sex these guys?
Currently he weighs in at about 275g but that is after a major run in with a great dane. His stitches just came out last week.

My two boys, Leonardo and Rafael are around 52/53 cm i suppose. When i bought them they were juveniles but they didnt grow a lot since then. I bought Leonardo in July 2003 and Rafael a few months later. They didnt grow a lot, only one inch each thats why i think MTS only grow a lot during its early chidhood.
Id like to have a 75cm Monkey Tail but i know by now that Leonardo and Rafael will never reach that size.
About the weight both were around 200 grs when i bought them now they are around 400grs.I think thats the correct weight because they are not thin but they are not fat either. Its difficult to safely fatten up a MTS. They are not voracious eaters. At least my boys are not!

my females seem to be fatter than my males and I think once someone said that was true in general. is that so for other people? they all eat well.
