Well i got my first beardie yesterday but i think i bought him at to young of a age, in my below post i said he was about 4-5 inches well i keep staring him and im just realizing how small he really is, i'd say hes really about 3-4 inches, ive read a couple of care sheets and my friend also has one so i knew i could do it, but today i was browsing the net when i found a couple of care sheets sayin dont buy beardies smaller than 6 inches or chances are they will get strssed and die, so im kinda gettin scared, i offered food but he didnt take ne crickets, i know to feed him pinhead crickets but its not working, i covered his tank wit newspaper so hes not as stressed out, its a 20 gallon tank by the way. I really just need tips on raising such small babys nice an healthy because i really dont want this guy to die on me, he or she doesnt look sick , its active during the day but any tips or help would be appreciated thx.

One thing i can think of doing, would be to take off the jumping legs of the pin heads so its harder for them to escape and maybe a slower moving prey will attract more attention from the dragon. Or even dangling the prey in front of him until he/she takes it from your hand.

One of my girls was pretty small when I got her. She didn' eat for the first few days, which seems to be normal. When she did finally start to eat, she had a hard time chasing crix, and some would get far away to where she didn't seem to see them. I started cutting th back legs off the crikets, and putting them in an old puppy food dish, so they couldn't get out or hide under anything. Then I put the dish directly in eye view under her basking ledge. After the first few times, as soon as she saw that purple dish she would freak out, dive right in there and eat every cricket I put in there. She is now about 12 inches long, and I've been able to stop with the dish and the leg removal thing. Just a suggestion, it definitly worked for me.
