Hot Room Safety

SnakesAndStuff Mar 01, 2005 04:35 PM

The other night while working in my hot room, I had a thought. What would happen if I was in my room, late at night feeding snakes, and power went out. Scary situation. I now have battery backup in my room with plenty of time to let me close up cages/finish up what I'm doing in case power goes out.

Hi:

One night a few minutes before 6 Pm I was working in my snake room which has no windows. I have nice overhead lighting but keep it off most of the time and just work with the cage lighting. I was cleaning up some Sawscale feces when the lights went out. I had a hook under the hide box and had to drop it and go for the overhead lights. Nobody got hurt or escape but it sure had serious "pucker factor". Now when I work in the room about the time (6 pm) when the cage lights automatically go off I switch on the overhead lights and I always have a flashlite in my pocket.
