This is a one of a kind. Both the Tattoo and the Dragon.

Those velociraptors scared the heck out of me in the movies! I had bad dreams of those suckers chasing me... Of course, I once dreamed Godzilla was after me, too, lol, but somehow I could *just* outrun him...

That tattoo would also be nice with some color. Or not. Good work, anyway, and I like the water dragon, too.

I never miss a chance to reply to a tat post. Please forgive the Tegu scratches. I got this one back in '02 after thinking it over for 2 years. Ink artist is Brian White in Flint, MI, and the original artwork was done by Sandy Kiraly of Ohio.

two of my biggest passions are huge monitors and huge tattoos. so i just wanted to give you some advise. you are quite young to get a tattoo, and as you get older your tastes will change. but a monitor tattoo is something that you will probably always cherish. if you wanted say sponge bob i would have told you to wait. ok now to the tattoo. for every 1 great tattoo artist, there are hundreds of hack tattoo artists, and i use the word artist loosely. the best advise i can give you is research the tattoo shops in your area and ask to see a photo book of their work. not flash on the wall, but photos of actual tattoos they have done. if they do not have photos of their work, leave the shop. if they do not have pics that means they suck. also artists specialize in different things. some specialize in horror, or asian, or tribal, etc... you might want to find someone who specializes in portraits or animals. the other piece of advise i could give you is when it comes to getting a tattoo they are extremely expennsive. if your tattoo costs less than $350 i would be extremely cautious. a decent price for a realistic monitor would be at least $500. depending on placement and size of tattoo. but when it comes to tattoos, you do not want to haggle or barter. this is something that you will carry the rest of your life and you get what you pay for. the better the picture reference you have the better the tattoo will turn out. find a very reputable tattoo shop and talk with them and let them help you research a nice monitor pic. you will also need your parent with you since it is illegal to get inked under the age of 18. good luck and remember when it comes to art you will wear the rest of your life never do anything on impulse. take the time, spend the money, do the research and you will be happy with your new tattoo for a very long time. tattoo artists also have huge egos and even huger attitudes, so bring your parent with you and talk to them in person, so they know your serious. i wish you all the luck in the world my young friend. oh one last very important piece of advise... NEVER, EVER use the word "tat" when talking about tattoos. makes my skin crawl... ha, ha!

Anil Gupta

Hands down. Never have I seen an artist master every single style. He even has HR Giger's approval to do his artwork on people's skin..

I suggest you look through each category on the site, but if you truly want to be amazed, look under the miniatures... I haven't seen too many tattoo artists who could tattoo the mona lisa or picasso's works on your arm, the size of a quarter....

Absolutely amazing... It's no wonder he charges $400 an hour.. and has a waiting list of close to two years.

Show me an artist better than Anil, and I will be very impressed...

Check him out-

Here's a pic of my friend's Noah's Ark tattoo that he got done by Anil... one of the most detailed tat's I've ever seen, and it was done all free hand, no stencils/outlines, etc...

anil is good, but no where near the best in the world. not trying to get into a pissing match, but he is amazing. i would go as far as saying he is not even the best in nyc. paul booth is better in my opinion.

but here is something you should consider regarding his miniature tattoos. these people getting them have no clue that with time all they will have is a blur. it might seems "neat" to have the mona lisa the size of a quarter, but the reality is thet in 25 years they will not even b e able to tell what it is. just a blur of color. the fact that he charges $400 an hour is obscene. you cannot get nothing done in an hour. again this goes back to my ego comment. the man is not curing cancer, he puts ink into skin. he does it better than most in his profession, but $400 an hour is simply ripping people off.

years ago anil did a backpiece that blew me away. it was a yellow asian dragon with zombie like eyes. stunning!!!

400.oo per hour? ha! the average rate is roughly 100-200 per hour depending on artist and location, if u go to guy aitchison u r obviously going to pay more http://www.hyperspacestudios.com/ .... but either way u r both correct...its like argueing over ur favorite band. take care fellas

i agree completely about the age thing. although u may think right now that is what u want it will change in due time. as far as a drawing goes u can go to any professional shop and commision an artist to draw u whatever it is u want. im sure if u rnt getting tattooed right away there will be a charge, which is well worth it, u will have a piece designed just for u! i am an artist and would refuse to tattoo u because of ur age, most states and shops have regulations regarding age so be careful. dont just give your money to someone who doesnt care... good luck. u can e mail me with any other questions regarding your idea.
