I'd go with the long term double and triple hets, produce some new things, be creative and guess what, those are not a gamble but rather a sure way to make money in the long run. You will never sell a double or triple het anything as a small guy until you produce a visual of the (hypothetical albino spider pied) but you will be vastly rewared for it for years and years to come once you do, NOT a gamble....
To produce baby ball pythons! Making money is icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned. I just wanna see little heads poking out of eggs. And I want to see them soon! I have two females who have been copulating, so my fingers are crossed.
I won't lie, I didn't aquire a pastel and hypo just to have pretty pets. I thought they'd make a cool investment as well. I have been adding to the collection pretty much one ball a season, although I have no 04s. So you see I am a very small hobbyist breeder, not looking to make millions.
For me it's really about a personal goal of gaining experience breeding snakes. Someday I will hopefully move on to Angolans and jaguar carpets. Right now, I'm hoping to make enough money to sustain my collection's growing needs and to grow my collection.
well i think that i have more of a sentimental reason as to why i would like to breed ball pythons. my girlfriend has assured me that she does not want any children. so the offs[ring that my ball pythons produce shall be treated very well. of course some shall be sold or ones that i aquire will be sold in order to maintain them. but to me they will be my children.

Some of my goals are to make enough money to expand my collection, produce my own morph, and the enjoyment (and frustration) that comes from hatching these neat little creatures.

and I can't afford to buy one, lol. I have a 66% het albino female and am getting a 100% het male to go w/ her. I know I have some odds against me, but it will be fun anyway. You'll hear me cheering from miles away if someday I see yellow underneath a piece of shell.
