Damn you 'ol roy

I've been feeding my feeder rats 'ol roy from WalMart for months because it's cheap(less than $12 for 50 lbs)has no red dye(used to) and is nutritious (good enough for the rats). Now all of a sudden I open a bag and half of its got red dye in it. What the HELL? Why change something that outsells other dog food the way it was? Now I'm gonna have to buy it somewhere else and I'm betting a lot of other rat breeders will stop buying it too. I was going through about 100- 150 lbs a month and I bet they'll notice sales go down all over the place. What do you think? Is there any way to convince a giant like WalMart to go back to the way things were? Maybe they're wise to us and they want us to spend more on something like purina dog chow. I don't get it.

I don't get it either. But I never fed Ol Roy. I do tend toward slightly more expensive dog kibbles (for my rats) and way more expensive (for my dogs)
I did get some Dad's without dyes and like it quite well (for the rodents) and it was just as cheap as the OlRoy. There is also a Tractor Supply that sells brands I have never heard of that are frighteningly generic and cheap too.

Haven't we warned you about tampering with the structure of a chaotic system?

It is not so hard to talk to the person in charge at Wal Mart. I asked his assistant the reason for the switch and she does not know because the account has just switched hands to a new person. She is going the look into it because they want all the money they can get so there department looks good. It will be about a week or two before I here back. I don't call my sister that much. The lamb and rice does not have red dye in it but it does cost more.

Target has a store brand non colored dog food that is dirt cheap...usually around 5-6 bucks for 25 lbs! I got it on sale before for 3.99! Happy days! My rats love it, and the protein levels are decent. It is in a blue bag
