30 gallon long

limentality420 Mar 02, 2005 12:14 AM

If I stood a 30 gal long on its side so it would be 30 inches high instead of 20 but the groundspace would be 13 by 20 and the screen would be in the front would it be ok for cresteds ?

it would be fine, but it may become a bit hard getting the screen on and off and because of the lip on the tank it may not balance well.

i keep two females in a 30 long, it isnt that tall overall, but they are doing great and very healthy, a lot of hobbyists and breeders keep them in smaller, im not saying that is a good thing to do, but in my opinion a 30 gallon is fine.

i also use 29 gallons which are taller, but i didnt want to waste a 30 gallon that i had so i used it.

put a wedge, or a shim under the aquarium near the black plastic lip. this will lift if up off of the edge so the lid will be able to go on and off more easily.

Thanks for the help. I have a adult tangerine male and a adult dalmation female in mine.
