What size food item and how often on average should large adult Jungle Carpets be fed?

Thanks,
Dan

Usually speaking a f/t med-large rat every two weeks or so will suffice. That all depends on the sex of the carpet, if you plan to breed or not, and activity level. So a couple of factors fall into play, but it's a good rule of thumb.

my 3 year old, 6 foot male is eating a f/t large rat every 2-3 weeks. he constrict them sometimes even though they are already dead. the only time he's gone off feed was when he was very restless, (looking for a mate i guess). he has always been a good feeder. just so you'll know i've read some JCP's will not take to rats. i've read of one adult that had to be fed some 15-20 mice to get his fill.

Mine will not take rats, tried everything. I have to feed almost 20 mice every ten days or so. Now that its warming up, chicks are available. At $.89 a piece you really can't go wrong. She usually eats about ten of them. Good luck, Eric-
