bulge at the tail

bigcountry1 Mar 02, 2005 03:26 PM

i have three baby emeralds, two of which are great eaters, the other however hasn't ate since i got him in january.

He seems to have a bulge at the base of his tail. He hasn't prolapsed or anything, but i am kinda worried.

Should i soak him in water?

Any suggestions?

so just now, i was handling my little emerald, checking out his tail, and i thought what the heck, i'll see if he will eat.

sure enough, he grabbed the pink and constricted it, i took some pics of him and his tail, please give me some feedback.

Looks like he is going to take a def. break. sometimes a bit of excercise will induse a BM, or a gentle dip in slightly warm water. I would most definatly not worry, unless the lump continues for a bit. Also, Why are you feeding him on the ground???

thanks

thanks for the reply joe...and i am an indiana boy as well.

He has been offered food now twice, and those times didn't give it a second thought. so i thought what the heck, and sure enough he ate it. i was pretty suprised, but happy he ate.

if that is what it is going to take for him to eat, then so be it.

my friend feeds all his snakes, including the emeralds and greentrees in buckets.

Hell, that is the weirdist thing I have come across, Maybe a defensive thing?

Where abouts in indiana are you from? As you know this is not emerald country, and the ball pythons run like water.

best of luck,

joe
