Favorite Foods?

caecilianman02 Mar 02, 2005 06:14 PM

Hi,

I was just interested to see what peoples favorite foods on the forums are. I think it makes sense that an exotic animal enthusiast would also be an exotic food fan. I LOVE Indian food, sushi... just about anything. Awhile ago in a restaurant I tried goat meat, and just loved it. I am also a big Thai food fan. I eat all of this, as well as classic home favorites like canned soup, and frozen pudding.
Is anyone interested in swapping ethnic recipes or grilling tips? Who here can cook?

Ok...I'll bite. (pun intended)

I also love the exotic in food-Particularly Thai, Indian and Middle Eastern.

Here's a simple recipe for tasty Pork chops. Fill a frying pan to about one inch with water. Add Cinnamon, Oregano, allspice and black pepper generously (you can also add Chinese three spice). Add Chops and cook on stove at three quarters on the setting till tender (about one hour).
Serve with apple sauce-Ice cold. As you eat, dip the pieces of chop in the cold sauce. Serve with salad.

Delicious!

I'm what you would call a "eat to live" rather than "live to eat" person.

As long as my stomach is full, I'm happy.

If I had to pick though, I guess a nice grilled new-york strip (medium) and a baked potato.

I have very simple tastes...not what you'd call an adventurous eater.

Sorry I took so long. I love thai food too (we have a thai family that runs their own little restaurant right by me). Love cooking mexican and Italian. Learning how to make thai still. I have a good marinara recipe and a really good meatloaf recipe. I never ate or liked meatloaf until I made it this way. One of my other hobbies is cooking LOL. I USED to be fat, but now I'm so active I could probably eat babyback ribs forever ..... well, maybe thats a stretch LOL

mmmm...

It all sounds so good! There are some adventurous eaters on here. I too love grilled steaks with potatos (or rice pilaf) but I am usually a rare person, rather than medium. I like a cold red center, heavy on the marinade. I also enjoy cooking. Sometimes I just go into the kitchen and start chopping up stuff, without thinking about what I'm doing. Sometimes the result can be quite delicious.
I am craving some goat meat right now!
If anyone is interested, I have a recipe for chicken curry with all fresh ingedients. I was told how to make it by the owner of an Indian restaurant that was in business for its last night, the first time I went. The owner gave me spices to take home, and told me how to prepare it.
Is anyone interested? I like it UNBEARABLY SCORCHING WITH SPICES AND HOT PEPPERS!

Dude, send me that recipe. Just go to my website and e-mail it to me through there. You sound like me. I get in the kitchen and chase the woman out (and none to kindly, LOL). She's learned to get outta my way and almost always it pays off
I like a lot of heat too. Just bought a sauce called red savina (the hottest sub of habanero) and love it. If you want, I'll tell you where I got it. They also make a killer habanero mustard.

Ok, Go to the below link and click products. The good mustard is the Amarillo mustard (I bought a case of that, it's worth it). The thermonuclear hotsauce is the red savina pepper sauce (be careful, it'll cause upset all the way through).

If you like hot, this'll get ya goin'. Try takin' a shot of this and swishing it around in your mouth for a WHOLE minute before swallowing I'm evil

Both are very good. There are others there I haven't tried yet.

Here's some of my recipes (at my website, link below). Scroll all the way to near the bottom to "some healthy recipes". I have more, if any one wants to trade more. The ones I like best are the chocolate and lemon mousse (of course). They're all good though. The turkey meatloaf is ok, but I have another recipe for regular beef meatloaf that is really good.

I love chineese food, and tacos. I like to cook to but am not like a wizard in the kitchen lol. I'd rather make some appple pie or something sweet.
