Sick Pac Man

CurtisR_25 Mar 03, 2005 09:34 AM

Hey guys,
My pacamn hasn't eaten in a while, maybe a week or two. I did not think anything of it cause it has happened before and then he was fine. But last night I noticed a huge bump over his back right leg. He was in his water dish and could not get out of it, and he has never had trouble with that before. So ovioudly it is affecting his ability to walk, he kind of drags himself isntead of hopping like he used to. Any ideas on what this couls be? There is no discoloration or marks on his skin, and the "bump" is soft to the touch, but it is pretty big and is obviously affecting hime. Thanks alot

my pac man had the same problem, one leg was noticeably swollen. I checked underneath and it had a cut. I just left it alone in a quiet room for about a week and the swellings gone down

good luck

While frogs are amazing healers with proper husbandry, I wouldn't leave anything larger than a small cut or abrasion to heal on it's own. A swollen leg can be a lot of things, and especially because if the lameness that you describe it is quite possible that the leg is broken.
Take your frog to a herp experienced veterinarian.
