HELP! possible broken limbs/paralysis

alex P Mar 03, 2005 10:26 AM

so my geck decided to escape from his cage last night, and the fall over the edge is a good 5 feet with a small ledge on the way down. when i found him he seemed ok, but REALLY jumpy. When i tried to put him back, he flipped out and took the fall again. this time i didn't want to touch him and let him move on his own, and now he is dragging both back legs, possibly a front leg hurt as well. i will probably take him to a vet today, but if anyone has any advice i would appreciate it.

First off any animal should be kept in an escape proof tank(especially leo's as they are master escapist's) Secondly all i can say is keep an eye on him and get him to the vet A.S.A.P! Other than that i cannot help you. Gilbery007

Maybe it was an escape proof tank... I've had a pet lobster escape of what I thought was an escape proof tank. Came home from shopping one night, and there he was, waving his claws at me on the ground when I opened the front door....

hey, thanks everyone. i guess he must have been stunned, becuase when i took him out before we went to the vet, i had him walk around. he was totally OK! it looks like nothing ever happened. so thanks for the quick responses, but apparently there was no need to panic on my part. anyway, i was just going to ask if i should be concerned about any internal organ damage or anything of that nature. if so, how do i tell? otherwise, thanks again!

Yea, that lobster was such a pain.... The strangest thing I've ever kept as a pet too.

It could just be stunned. Wait and watch it, and get a different cage or put it lower. Not much a vet can do for it.
