what lizard for a 24*23 in floor space

kyle1414 Mar 03, 2005 12:51 PM

I previously had curly taied lizards in there and I have had anoles, in a different cage but I am looking for something bigger and easier to hold because when my jeweled curly tails get out the would crawl under places and it would take a long time to get them so a bigger lizard would be better, like 10-15 inches. I don't want lizards that have water enviorments, or high heat enviorments because that takes to much cleaning and electricity. I also don't want geckos or bearded dragons. What do you suggest? Also, what good online sites can i get them from because the only respectable store near doesnt have a wide variety of lizards. It's 35 gallons but has a lot of floor space so it can't be an aboreal lizard either.

Well the truth is that lizards are not like domesticated cats
and dogs. They are wild animals and aren't really meant to be
held. It's best to think of them as you would tropical fish.
Nice to have and care for but not a very good idea to reach
in their tank and take them out and play with them.

You might try www.reptilecity.com and www.reptiledepot.com
as I *think* both are online breeders who will overnight ship
the animals they breed or have for sale. The particular
species of animals they have for sale at any given time will
vary as they become available and are old enough to be sold.
While I haven't had any personal experience purchasing from
either one based on their websites and their policy statements
both seem to be fair, honest and concerned about the health
and welfare of the animals they sell and equally concerned
about well the customer's satisfaction with their purchases
of one of their animals.
An online Google, Yahoo or Dogpile search is likely to bring
up plenty of online reptile breeders who will overnight ship
to wherever you are located. Peace.
