Another snake that jus refuses to sit still for a pic!

These baby Deppei hit light speed in the blink of an eye.Even when I am expecting them to bolt I still always end up catching them near the tail because they're just in "I am outa here" mode. I produced a clutch from my Vivid Reptiles stock in 04 for the first time. It's cool to see them change ever so slowly as they mature. Tom Stevens

I love seeing young deppei deppei and then see them a couple of years later. It sure is easy to understand why folks with collecting permits did not waste them on ugly little gophers that were not colorful or really very interesting. According to Randy Limburg he always saw hatchlings, but only saw a few adult road kills in his many trips to Mexico. Thank goodness for those that love these animals that a few were brought back. Be sure and show us some more pics as they age.
