Big For Her Age?

Tumtum03 Mar 03, 2005 06:10 PM

I have three dragons and have had others in the past. Today I was giving all my guys a bath and I deceided to weigh them up today since it had been awhile since I last weighed them. Well my normal male is a year old and 19 inches long and 284 grams. Well I weighed my 6 month old female and she is about 12 inches and 228 grams and shes a normal. Is it just me or does that sound big for her age? I was just curious what you guys thought? She just seems like a monster for her age! Thanks in advance!

She sounds big weight-wise. Is she overweight? (something I didnt know dragons could be until I was told to make sure mine didnt get overweight! I have 3 dragons, and actually just weighed them all. My 8 mos old 15 inch long (2 inches missing from her tail!) female weighs 287g (she's big), my 9 mos old 14.5 inch female weighs 212g, my 3-4 mos old 10 inch male only weighs 60g. I know all dragons grow at different rates, so theres really no way to judge. What do you feed them? Sorry I cant be of more help!

Size and weight varies depending on each dragon. My female dragon was 19inches before she was a year old, and she is a female! As long as your lizards are in good health and arent overweight, i wouldnt worry!
