Snake housing

I was wondering if you guys could tell me some other types of cages that i could use to house my 70-80 gram snakes I currently use 10 gal. but want to switch to something a little better. Thanks,

Depends what you mean by "better"...Glass aquaria are nice, but as you go to larger sizes they are heavy and therefore hard to lug around and clean. I have some of these, but I also have some large Sterilite boxes (Rubbermaid is good, too). These aren't as transparent, although I feel that I can observe my snakes through them fairly well. They are light and inexpensive. They tend to stack easily. You can put holes in them with a woodburner or soldering iron very easily (make sure you have proper ventilation). I have several of my larger ratsnakes in 50 gallon Sterilite boxes that I found at Super Wal*Mart for only 10 bucks each. That's value for my $$!

Could i put a heat pad under a sterilite or rubbermaid and not worry about it burning the tubware

........That would be fine. Just make sure that the heat pad only takes up a small percentage of the tub so the snake can have a cool spot. Duffy
