Incubation temperature determine sex

rachel Mar 03, 2005 07:32 PM

Has anyone seen anything regarding incubation temperature determining the sex of chuckwallas. We incubated eight eggs at the higher end of the recommended scale last year, and they are 7 months old now, and it is looking increasingly like we have a high/total percentage of males.
Cheers

Rachel.

From bearded dragons, uromastyx and other lizards it does seem that the higher temps create for the most part males and an inbetween may end up with a mix, and lower temps often produce females....
Obviously too low is playing with danger.........

We incubated at 92 last year (wanted to hurry them along), I'm pretty sure now that we have eight out of eight males!!!!
