how do you provide the snakes with u/v lighting? or how much do u provide? or how important is it?

Don't need to. Most snake owners don't concern themselves too much with UV. They seem to get pretty much what they need from their diet...being whole organisms. As long as you can keep proper temps for the species in question you are OK. An under-tank heater or heating pad can provide a heat gradient if needed. I have my snakes in a small room where I regulate the temperature of the entire room. About half mine are in plastic boxes. I have a "shop light" for when I am down there, but allow natural lighting to come in through a small (basement) window. I am not concerned with uv...just providing a light-dark cycle in general ........ Duffy
