First off, where are you?

The picture is very dark and very small. I opened in in a photo editing program and managed to make it a little better, but still not real clear. It looks like a Gray Rat Snake, but I have seen some corn snakes from the wild with very reduced reds. An easy way to tell...a Corn Snake's belly will have a distinct black and white "checkerboard" pattern and the underside of the tail is usually striped.

It's pretty hard to tell from that pic. Depending on where you live it could be a grey rat like Oldherper mentioned.
It could also be a juvenile yellow ratsnake. They can be quite drab colored as babies and have those dorsal saddles which will eventually fade away.
This is a pic of one of my Everglades ratsnake hatchlings from last year. They look pretty much identical to yellow ratsnakes at birth.
