I was DISGUSTED after watching this weeks episode of SURVIVOR. they were out fishing and come upon some banded sea kraits hanging out in a hollowed out side of a rock. They decided to cut the heads off the snakes and then try to eat them. BUT..they hung the snakes DEAD bodies over a tree limb over the water and noticed sharks swimming by and decided to use the snakes as bait to reel the sharks closer so they could "TRY" to kill the sharks with tree limbs...I was sick to my stomach after watching that. I will NEVER watch that show again!

Well it was sad but DAMN they were hungry- even the one guy who's a dolphin trainer wasn't happy about doing it, he was applogizing to the snakes before he killed them. What more do you want? Food is Food.

you gotta do what you gotta do. I love snakes, but if it meant me livin or dyin, you better believe I'd be eating snake kabobs!!!!

LOL, I'm ok with eatin' snakes, just not good with usin' em fer shark bait. THAT'S foolish!!!

they didn't eat them......

they were gravid and ready to drop.......should have checked inside right away.......

used them for shark bait and had NO idea how to spear a black tipped reef shark.which came in slow and hunted down the food item with stealth and then speed.....

they couldn't get a shot at the sharks at all...

they couldn't throw or lung the spear at all......

they didn't have a straight spear or sharp enough points at all..

they did everything wrong........

the blood dripping from dead snakes hanging in tree was enough of a lure.........

lure is better than bait *(trapping 101).......

lure them into shallow enough ater.(they went too deep).....then spear them hard......

bamboo is straight and the wrecks around the island offers metal for points........

....the survivor series are all full of people who have NO idea how to survive.......at all........

...........anyways...........

they thought they were badasses at the time...

they weren't..........

do banded sea kraits even bite at all?........hmmmmmmm

I love snakes, and like everyone else when it comes down to it, I'd prefer to eat and if I can eat snakes or use one to catch a meal while stranded on an island, then so be it. I didn't see the rat lovers of the world up in arms when they ate rats or the spider keepers up in arms every time a spiders eaten on Fear Factor. A lot of countries eat snakes like we eat fish or beef, its not a big deal.

While I am extremely for the animals and I think reality tv is stupid...we look pretty silly acting like this. Reminds me of an organization that burns down science labs and is the biggest attack on our hobby. I didn't see it and if they killed like 50 snakes or something and didn't catch any fish I would be upset and they are not going to win the game anyway. But since I do not get mad at them catching fish, using worms to catch fish, eating other animals, I need to keep my bias toward snakes to myself. I get a little more upset about the buckets of scorpions on these shows without tails. Makes less sense to me than trying to survive on an island for money. Makes less sense than trying to breed odd looking snakes for money too. If I were stranded on an island with my favorite snake...I would understand if she ate me.

ok tree hugger,unless you are a vegatarian dont eat meat of any kind.The name of the show is called SURVIVOR.Snakes are killed all over the world for food, sport, skins,just to drink the blood.I take offense at your remarks because I have donated my time for the last ten tears to a university committee so that animle rights groups dont stop students from doing research with lab animals,by the way that research could save your life.
