tail regrowth?

itsazoo Mar 04, 2005 06:38 PM

Well...my female jewel curly tail turned out to be a male. Then proceded to attack the other male in the tank, removing about an inch of his tail. "She" now has a new home and I have taken the injured male off of sand and put him on paper towels to let his tail heal. Does anyone know if the tip of his tail will grow back?

Hi, I have a collared, that was pretty much DE- TAILED by his mate, and it has healed over,( he has half a tail) and a little nubby darkened tip grows, not real nice looking.

I have had lizards drop part of their tail, and it does grow back , looks different somtimes with lack of pattern if they have spots whatever.
But when its chewed, or biten off, it looks even LESS normal, if some grows, in my opinion.

Now that I have him off of sand and on paper towels it's pretty obvious that he's ingested very small amounts of sand when eating. Is there another good substrate to use so that he can still burrow? He's not happy at all about this paper towel business. Would it work to maybe use dried bed-a-beast?
