Spraypaint

spinecrawler Mar 04, 2005 08:58 PM

I was wondering what everyone thought about spraypaint in the cage of the beardie. I wanted to do it on the side walls, and i was wanting to make custom rocks and stuff.

I was thinking expanding foam spray that hardens and then spraying with a sandstone texture paint, would this be dangerous? Has anyone tried this? The expanding foam, or paint on the inside of the cage?

Thanks for any posts

Jeremy

I have used both and they work just fine. Just make sure you have plent of time for them to off gas. Some would say a couple of weeks but I find if you put a heat lamp near it and let it warm the surfaces it will off gas in about two days. Good Luck!

Do you have any pictures of what you have done, or could you take some pics for me and post them? I sure would appreciate it

Thanks

those would both work fine

Once you're painted them and allowed time for the fumes to evaporate, It may also be a good idea to use a clear sealer overtop since beardies like to taste everything. If you go into the hardware store and ask for a sealer that is safe for "baby furniture" they'll know what you mean and get you one that's non toxic if ingested. this will also need a couple days to evaporate fumes but it will help keep things together and prevent paint from flaking off under the heat and such

Hope this helps

Derek
