Which is better.... Ford or Chevy pickups? More

MissHisssss Mar 05, 2005 02:01 AM

I'm hoping to hear from those that have either owned both so they can give a better comparison, or those that work at an auto parts store, repair garage, or towing service, so they can tell me which of the two breaks down more often, and which years break down more often in both Chevy and Fords. (Like, I was told by an employee from Checker Auto parts that 1998 Chevy pickups have a bad record for breakdowns). And also, which parts cost more, those for Chevy or Ford. I'm trying to decide which one to get to pull my two horse trailer.

Thanks for all's opinions.

I drive a Ford F150. Regular cab-long bed. IMO Ford makes soso cars, but the best trucks.

One thing to remember, since this is a work horse-Keep it SIMPLE. The more gagetry and DooDads the more there is to break down. All I have is AC (necessary in S. Fla) and a radio.

Mine has crank windows because in a wreck power windows fail and you might need to get out fast (and again-down here water is everywhere.).
