Thinking about a Water Dragon.

Herp-Keeper Mar 05, 2005 08:35 AM

Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about getting a Water Dragon sometime soon. Can anyone here with experience tell me if they are calm creatures that could be handled? Or should they rarely be handled? And also what would you suggest as the minimum cage requirement for an adult female? (cage size that is)
Thank you in advance.

The absolute smallest cage I would go with would be 5 feet tall, 4 feet wide and 2.5 feet deep. Preferably bigger of course.

The do get quite calm with frequent handling, and most handle the stress just fine. I did have a aggressive male, but I believe he was wild caught, and he was half grown and quite wild when I got him. If you get a captive bred baby you should be fine.
